Claire Bennet is a fictional character in the NBC drama Heroes, portrayed by Hayden Panettiere. She is a high school[1] cheerleader who attends Union Wells High School in Odessa, Texas. Her life changes drastically when she discovers that she possesses the power of instantaneous regeneration. Over the course of the first season she struggles to accept her newfound powers. She also learns the truth about her adoptive father Mr. Bennet and who her real parents are. Her father's nickname for her, Claire Bear, is used prominently throughout the series.

Claire is also integral to Hiro Nakamura's quest to save New York. A future version of Hiro appears to Peter Petrelli and delivers the cryptic instruction, "Save the cheerleader, save the world." Claire is the cheerleader mentioned in this instruction.
