Krasinski's TV career began in 2002 as an intern on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.[5] His first stage experience was starring in a satirical high school play written and cast by B.J. Novak.[3] In addition to his role on The Office, Krasinski's TV credits include appearances on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Without A Trace, Ed,[6] American Dad! (as the voice of a squirrel), and an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

His feature film credits include Kinsey, Jarhead, Duane Hopwood, and The Holiday. He also had cameos in For Your Consideration and Dreamgirls. He wrote and directed a film adaptation of David Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (2006).

More recently, he had a major role in the poorly reviewed film, License to Wed, with Mandy Moore and Robin Williams. He starred as Gideon in A New Wave and Brevin in Smiley Face with Anna Faris.
